Rising Scores helps propel students who are deficient in reading and math skills. We try to add a love of LEARNING to proven techniques. We think that the zeal and the fun of math and English are too often replaced by curricula that is solely test-oriented. We too believe in standards, and that tests are often the best ways to measure excellence in meeting those standards. Our approach is to achieve that excellence with an enthusiastic student, buoyed to competence by well-honed skills AND a good learning environment.
In the later years (grades 6-10) we help work on writing skills. We believe that students should be able to write college-level assignments by the end of 10th grade. Many are not challenged to do so.
Rising Scores can work with your district to create a program aligned to your state standards and state tests. We have extended day programs, summer school programs, and in-school programs. When it comes to helping students raise state test scores and improve their holistic learning capabilities, our team of instructors and instructor-trainers are well-qualified to help.
For students who never had a parent read to them, or never had a parent interested enough to quiz them on math, gepgraphy, or vocabulary, there may be an indifference to learning.
